We all want to feel as if we belong, but our peers are constantly watching to see if we measure up to their expectations.
I believe that there is a strong attraction to those who just allow you to be yourself, without judging. Things can have value, without having to be evaluated.
This is an introspective film illustrating my struggle with loss, my infatuation for lying, and my search for identity. The notion of crafting an image to appease the “right” audience is a recurring themes throughout the video.
The audio was a stream of consciousness that preserved the authenticity of my emotions and served as a catalyst for the visuals. I felt it necessary maintaining the humanistic approach, so the visuals were a combination of hand crafted collages, film negatives and MiniDV tapes.
